Babes & Byways Art Event

On Dec. 4th between 6pm and 10pm fifthonsixth inc. will be presenting the art event "Babes & Byways". This event will be showcasing the works of two very talented local artists.

Lisa McShane paints landscapes of the west with lush fields, eroded hills, foggy passes, endless roads and expansive skies.
The event will also be highlighting her still lives. These pieces are painted wet into wet in one sitting using flowers and fruits of her kitchen.

When asked if Lucas Vidana would consider
his work "pop art", as popularized by visionaries such as Andy Warhol, Vidana says, "I don't believe it would be considered 'pop art'. It is more mixed media." He did not utilize a single brush stroke. Instead, he utilized pallet knives, handmade papers, screen printing, and
glue. His subjects tend to be women, but he uses images of people such as Charlie Chaplin.

Here is an interview where Vidana describes his work in greater detail as well as his
inspirations and past influences.

5% of the proceeds will go to benefit Conservation Northwest. Conservation Northwest is a nonprofit that works to preserve old growth forests and other natural areas from the shores of Washington to the Canadian Rockies. These areas are vital to relationships between humans and wildlife.

Welcome to fifthonsixth inc.

fifthonsixth inc., in all it's wisdom, has decided to move into the blogging world so that our clients, the public, and artists can better follow its going-ons. Through this site you will be able to keep up on artist shows, fifthonsixth events, follow our art calendar, and other community events that fifthonsixth is involved in. Also, we really want to use this site to get feedback on our art shows. We plan to have around six shows a year. You can give us feedback on the artists, space used, lighting, ambiance, or any old thing that you feel would improve our next show.

fifthonsixth inc. not only helps artists, but art appreciators as well! We are the hub connecting businesses, artists, and the public to a variety of graphic designers, fine artists, actors, videographers, illustrators, and more.

At fifthonsixth inc. we want our artists to make a living doing what they love. We feel artistic expression and appreciation have the power to enhance and expand the minds of our community and, in general, make the world a better, more beautiful place.
